Several folks in rural Washington state spent at least a portion of New Year's Eve being held hostage by an unlikely captor - tumbleweed. Roads became so clogged with the wandering weeds that the piles were up to 30 feet high in some places, and it took nearly 10 hours to finally clear it all away.
