The tech industry is filled with a lot of hot air. Every few years, some new technology will come onto the scene and be greeted by “industry experts” as “the future,” only for it to be tossed aside a few years later. NFTs? The Metaverse? Never heard of them — we’re doing A.I. now!

Comedian John Mulaney is sick of this hamster wheel, and at a recent conference for Salesforce, he unloaded on all of the Silicon Valley weirdos in the audience. While most of the video of this event isn’t on the internet (yet), the San Francisco Standard managed to write down some of the many incredible jokes laid out by Mulaney.

“Some of the vaguest language ever devised has been used here in the last three days,” he said at one point. “The fact that there are 45,000 ‘trailblazers’ here couldn’t devalue the title any more.”

Later, when talking about him and his son playing baseball, he states, “We’re just two guys hitting Wiffle balls badly and yelling ‘Good job’ at each other. It’s sort of the same energy here at Dreamforce.”

Good work, Mulaney — this time, you knocked it out of the park.
